Almere

Almere is one of the newest cities in The Netherlands.  From the first houses built in the 60’s and 70’s, Almere is now home to over 220,000 residents from over 150 different nationalities and is the fastest growing town in The Netherlands.

Surrounded by water and greenery, Almere attracts residents who enjoy the outdoor lifestyle. Almere is a great choice for families, as housing tends to be more modern and spacious and children have the freedom to explore water and land activities on the doorstep.

Almere has a number of local Dutch schools but there are also 2 highly regarded International schools catering to students from age 2 to 18, offering The IB curriculum.

Road, rail and bus links from Almere make this an easy commute with 6 train stations offering direct links to Schipol airport and Amsterdam in 20 minutes. Additionally, there is a good bus network to the business districts of Amsterdam and comprehensive cycle paths in/out and around the city.
